This event celebrates the religious diversity of the town at the site of the
first religious service (Hereford Inlet Lighthouse).

Maritime Festival - Celebration of all things maritime/seashore. Artisit,
crafters, merchants, authors, historians, historic displays, food, music and more.
July - Margaret Mace / Wards Maternity Hospital "Baby Reunion"
A reunion and group photo of those born at these two historic facilities.

August 7th - Monday - 11am - National Lighthouse Day
The 227th anniversary of the creaton of the U.S. Lighthouse Service.
Special guest speakers include elected officials, Coast Guard representatives, former Lighthouse
Keepers and Historians. Authors and artists signings, hot dog sale,
and admission to the Lighthouse is free 9am-4pm

Lighthouse Challenge of New Jersey
Statewide festival "Challenge" to visit all 11 lighthouses, 1 virtual tour,
2 Life Saving Stations and 1 museum during the course of the weekend.

Annual Christmas Tree Lighting Ceremony
Holiday decorations, music, hot chocolate, cookies, and hot dog sale.
A visit from Santa and the lighthing of the offical Community Christmas Tree.
Hereford Inlet Lighthouse is a
working lighthouse, as well as a museum. It is open to the public for
guided and self guided tours. Visitors will learn about the history of
Hereford and get a glimpse of the life of a lighthouse keeper in the
late 19th and early 20th century. Learn about the History of Hereford Inlet Lighthouse
A park surrounding the Lighthouse is designed with
many different garden areas containing over 200 plant varieties. The
Hereford Inlet Lighthouse Gardens are planted in the Victorian cottage style and extend right up
to the ocean seawall. They have won several awards, including the
Pennsylvania Horticultural Society Suburban Greening Award.
The Lighthouse also has a gift shop featuring
lighthouse and nautical theme art work, books, miniatures, shirts ,
hats, mugs and much more.
The garden and grounds around the Lighthouse are
wheelchair accessible. A DVD tour is available upon request to those
unable to climb the Lighthouse.
We welcome and can accommodate school trips, senior
citizen groups and all other tour buses. Special rates are available
for groups of 30 or more.
Hereford Inlet Lighthouse is open year round.
